Seen my hair growing out haven't you?
Change has come, and represented itself with the loss of something certain
I used to think I was infallible
Looking back, that shit is laughable, I've moved past perfect
Tried to give up cursing for Lent, I couldn't quit smoking
So instead of blowing the door wide open, I've become emotionally spent
Line after line, lately, has been a cross-section of one woman
And another interfering with the first's path -- tough luck she doesn't know it
What one doesn't know but still applies is called ignorance
If I WANT her and don't show it, am I lying or is she just in bliss?
Her man doesn't know how to treat her, grabs her mind by the wrist
Tries to mentally slap her up, beat her, make her hurt worse when she's fixed
So I sit back and reminisce
Try to recall moments in which life has left scars so I could tell stories to inspire with
Lining up at the finish with all my trials
Shooting for stars when the race starts, just trying to tie with survival
